This Polynesian tattoo for the thigh was prepared for Marco and it is coupled with a shoulder and pec tattoo on the other side of the body for balance (the main goal of these tattoos).
The lokahi of the other tattoo is paired on the thigh by a Marquesan cross, which shares a similar meaning of harmony and balance, and they are both surrounded by a sun to remember the importance of this.
Both tattoos have symbols of strength and tenacity (spearheads in this case) while obstacles and challenges are represented by the path of Kamehameha.The row of birds again symbolizes the voyage followed with other people to achieve balance (the Marquesan cross within a sun at the end of the path).
The lizard is another symbol of protection and connection to the spiritual world.
