This flame-shaped koru inspired tattoo was prepared for Graham, incorporating elements related to his story.
The main body of the flame is shaped by the letters G, B, and the number 7, together with symbols representing family (flax leaves), wisdom (the path to knowledge) and integrity (the mere and the dog spine: integrity, authority, and loyalty).
Other elements are spearheads for courage and the warrior, shark teeth for adaptability, strength, and protection, octopus tentacle for tenacity and perseverance, waves for change, birds for voyages, mountains for stability, and fish and fishhook for prosperity.
The koru itself symbolizes a new beginning, and the kuhanu motif in it represents light coming from darkness.
