The symbol of the three moons, crescent, full an declining, which is often associated to the triple goddess Brighid, is not a protection tattoo itself, but represents instead the phases o a woman´s life and their sacrality: the crescent moon represents the virgin, and it´s associated to birth, youth, new beginnings and enchantment; the full moon is the mother, and it represents ripeness, sexuality, completeness and life; the declining moon symbolizes old age, wisdom and rest,death and endings.

The spiral formed by the phrase "Protége moi de mes désires" is in this case a symbol of introspection (it turns inwards instead of expanding) and the signs around it belong to the Bhuddists protective symbols tradition.
